In addition to our network safety protocol, we offer comprehensive liability insurance as well as contingent cargo-insurance coverage. Our team deals directly with the insurance company on your behalf. All transports are covered, so you are left with a lower risk of claims, a higher generated profit and overall peace of mind.

Our Safer Ship system checks the Federal Motor Carrier safety Administration (FMCSA) website nightly to confirm the status of our carriers and their insurance policies. If there are any failures or changes to a carrier’s status, we are notified immediately, and they are removed from our network until we are able to verify the issue has been resolved.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Damages

You, or someone (18 years or older) you’ve chosen to represent you, must be present for inspection of the vehicle upon delivery. The condition of the vehicle will be noted in detail at the time of pickup within a document called the Bill of Lading. This document will then be presented at the time of delivery. In the rare case of damage during transport, you or your representative must notate it on the Bill of Lading and notify ACERTUS within 48 hours. We have an onsite claims team that can assist with any damages that may occur during shipment.

ACERTUS maintains, at its sole cost and expense, all insurance and bonding requirements as imposed by law. ACERTUS shall be fully liable for any damages to the vehicle while in their possession incurred as a result of the actions of ACERTUS employees or subcontractors.

Our drivers do their best to stay clear of any weather conditions that could potentially cause damage to your vehicle, but weather can be unpredictable. Insurance companies call weather damage “Force Majeure” or an act of God. Weather and other acts of God are not covered by our insurance. For example, if there is hail damage this will not be covered by ACERTUS. You will have to submit the damage to your own insurance company.

However, our insurance covers damages caused by our drivers while they are in possession of your vehicle.

Insurance

Contingent cargo insurance provides coverage in the event that a general cargo insurance claim doesn’t apply. ACERTUS has contingent cargo coverage on every vehicle for extra protection.

Comprehensive insurance coverage helps cover the cost of damages to your vehicle when you are involved in an accident that’s not caused by a collision. This includes losses such as theft, vandalism, hail, and hitting an animal. This type of insurance is the responsibility of the vehicle owner and ACERTUS does not provide comprehensive insurance.
